Police Arrest 2 Suspected Armed Robbers, Kill 1 Other
The Police in the Ashanti region of Ghana have rounded up two suspected armed robbers at their hideout at Asuofua Asamang.
Their arrest was effected during an intelligence-led operation on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
One other suspect alleged as a notorious armed robber, Issaka Muniru, was shot dead in the course.
The remaining suspects, Kwaku Boateng and Kojo Gyamfi are currently in police custody and will be put before court soon, a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service on October 13 assured.
The police reported that Muniru was shot dead when he attempted to fire at the police. He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to the police.
Among the things which were retrieved from their hideout were a pistol and live ammunition.
“The police retrieved a Smith & Wesson SD40 VE which was used to fire at the officers and thirteen rounds of live ammunition.”
