PassionAir Downplays Saturday’s Mid-air Turbulence

Domestic airline PassionAir has downplayed Saturday’s mid-air turbulence experienced on Flight OP 149 operating from Kumasi to Accra.
It blamed the season for the occurrence, adding that its routes to and from Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, Sunyani and Wa are more likely to encounter varying levels of turbulence during this period.
According to the airline, the current rainy season brings with it significant and sometimes unpredictable weather variations.
“These conditions include heavy rainfall, storms, strong high-altitude winds, crosswinds, and temperature fluctuations, all of which contribute to unstable atmospheric conditions.”
It, however, stated that the company was proactively monitoring weather patterns in close coordination with the meteorological and aviation authorities.
“While we expect mostly slight to moderate weather disruptions, rare instances of severe conditions may occur due to these natural weather changes.”
Apologising to all affected passengers for the inconvenience caused, it assured that the safety and comfort of passengers and crew remain its highest priority.
“We continue to operate in strict compliance with all regulatory safety standards and will take every necessary measure to ensure minimal impact on our operations while maintaining the highest level of safety.”
