Parliament to Hear Mid-Year Budget Next Week

The Parliament of Ghana will receive the Minister for Finance next week for the Mid-Year Budget.

According to the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, the budget will be read on Thursday, 24th July 2025.

It will assess the fiscal performance for the first half of 2025.

The Deputy Majority Leader said this on the floor of the House while presenting the explanatory memorandum on the business statement for the eighth week ending Saturday 19th July 2025.

According to him, the Business Committee has taken notice of numerous referrals pending at Committees.

He pointed out that currently Sixty-One (61) referrals have been made to 16 Committees and they are expected to consider and report on the same.

In addition, the Deputy Majority Leader noted that the Business Committee has scheduled the Minister responsible for Local Government Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim to brief the House on Tuesday,15th July 2025 on the recent demolition of properties at the Sakumono Ramar Site.

The Committee has also scheduled the Minister responsible for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor to brief the House on Thursday 17th July 2025 on the recent 2.5% increment in electricity tariff by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission.
