Parliament Recalled for Urgent Gov’t Business
The Parliament of Ghana has been recalled from recess after the last session was adjourned at the end of last month.
A notice issued at the instance of the Speaker, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingford Bagbin directed members of the House to show up for government business on September 3, 2024.
“PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 112 (3) AND ORDERS 5 AND 53 OF THE STANDING ORDERS OF THE PARLIAMENT OF GHANA, I, RT HON ALBAN SUMANA KINGSFORD BAGBIN, SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT, HEREBY SUMMON PARLIAMENT TO SIT ON TUESDAY, THE 3RD DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2024 AT TEN O’CLOCK IN THE FORENOON AT A PLACE TO BE APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER IN DUE COURSE,” the notice reads.
It comes after the Majority Leader, Hon Alexander Afenyo Markin, petitioned the House for resumption for urgent government business.
The House was adjourned sine die by Speaker Alban Bagbin on July 30.
