Paralympic Games: Tahiru Haruna Appointed Captain of Team Ghana

Ghana’s Para-Powerlifter, Tahiru Haruna will lead the country’s team in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games scheduled to commence later this month.

He was voted as captain of Team Ghana by his teammates, according to a statement issued by the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.

Tahiru is committed to delivering the needed results to pay back the trust afforded him by both the team and the country.

“I’m truly honoured by the trust and support shown by my teammates. This is a testament to the strong team dynamics we have built…I am committed to making good use of it to represent and market Ghana at the Paris 2024 Games by mounting the podium.”

The team is currently in Paris steadily preparing for the Games.

The team of athletes with physical disabilities are determined to make strides in the global competition for medals.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be hosted by France with over 4,400 athletes from across the globe scheduled to compete in 22 sports in a total of 549 events for medals.

The games will be held at various venues in Paris including the Eiffel Tower, the Chateau de Versailles, and the Grand Palais.
