Paa Kwesi Induom Worried

Former flag bearer for Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Paa Kwesi Nduom has communicated his worry on social media.

His emotion was not communicated by words but by two pictures of himself.

Per the two pictures, it can be easily deduced that Nduom is worried about the development in the revocation of the licence of his bank, GN Bank by the Bank of Ghana.

He captioned the post with a sigh.

“Hmmmmm”.

In the pictures, Nduom had on a branded tie of GN Bank with his left hand placed on his left jaw in one picture. In the other picture, he held his head down with his left hand on his forehead.

This comes after the Appeal court referred the suit by GN Bank and other banks whose licences were revoked by the BoG, to the Ghana Arbitration Centre in accordance with Section 141 of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016, Act 930.

A referral application was filed by the Bank Of Ghana and got admitted by the appeal court on June 2nd, 2022.

It will be recalled that in January 2022, the PPP pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to restore the licence of GN Bank.

The licence of GN Bank, which was downgraded to a savings and loans company by the Bank of Ghana, was revoked together with twenty-two others in 2019 over issues of insolvency.
