Our Registration is Open Even to Asiedu Nketia Because NPP is Light- Justin Kodua Kodua
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, says the ongoing online membership registration exercise is open to all, including the members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Providing an update on the party’s membership registration, he addressed concerns that members of the opposition would take advantage of the electronic mode of registration to enrol on their register.
“We have heard claims that when we open our membership online registration application, our opponents or people who are not members of the NPP may register,” he said, visibly unperturbed.
According to him, such a move would mean the NDC had discerned the viability of the party.
“My simple response to them is that for the registration, every Ghanaian has the right to register to become a member of the New Patriotic Party so even Chairman Asiedu Nketia wants to register to become a member of the NPP because he has realise the government is not performing and has disappointed many Ghanaians, he will be allowed just like any other NDC member to register because they must have seen the light.”
That said, he noted that the introduction of online introduction will not make the party’s internal elections vulnerable to external forces.
