Our Hospitality Cannot Be Taken For Granted; Sam George Over Announced Igbo Village

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Constituency, Sam George, has contested plans by a Nigerian traditional leader to establish a village of Igbos in Ghana.

In a Facebook post, the lawmaker stated that the hospitality of Ghanaians cannot be abused in such a manner.

“Rest assured, we are a hospitable people but our hospitality CANNOT be taken for granted. Let calm prevail.”

According to him, there is neither a king nor kingdom within his constituency.

“No ‘King’ has any kingdom or land in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency. Disregard any such claims. The ancient Great Ningo kingdom is welcoming to all who visit us but none is welcome to lay claim to a kingdom here.”

It comes after a video surfaced online showing the Chief of Igbo in Ghana, Eze DrChukwudi Jude Ihenetu announcing plans to establish a historic kingdom in Ghana, generating public outrage.

He claimed that a 50-acre piece of land had already been purchased at Old Ningo, located within the Ningo-Prampram Constituency to further his mission to establish an Igbo village in Ghana.
