Otumfuo@25: Media Commended For Yeoman’s Job

The Chairman of Asantehene’s Silver Jubilee Planning Committee, Nana Otuo Siriboe has commended the media for their invaluable assistance in propagating and reporting on the various anniversaries Asanteman has held this year.

Outlining the various programmes that characterized the first two anniversaries, Nana Juabenhene said the media did the yeoman’s job by effectively taking the events to all corners of the world and making it popular among households in Ghana.

Media houses such as Opemsuo Radio- the official mouthpiece of the Manhyia Palace- gave comprehensive news and live coverages of these anniversaries and the Committee publicly acknowledged their efforts.

Nana Juabenhene while speaking at a press conference on May 27, 2024, said the contribution of the media gave a facelift to the events and made it more than successful.

“At the beginning of 2024, we called you the media to tell you about the three anniversaries including the 150th Anniversary of the Sagrenti War, Otumfuo’s Silver Jubilee and the Centenary of the return of Prempeh I. The media have since been very helpful throughout.

“We have drawn the curtain on major aspects of these anniversaries and we are here to reflect and thank stakeholders for the various ways they helped. The media worked as they had to. We appreciate their contribution.”

The appreciative presser was held at the Regional House of Chiefs in Kumasi. Present with Nana Juabenhene were other Committee members including Nana Nsuase Poku, Otumfuo Akyeamehene and Bompatamanhene Nana Effah Apenteng.
