Otumfuo Trusting Govt To Complete KNUST Hospital

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, is trusting the government to complete the stalled Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Teaching Hospital.

It comes after His Majesty was given the assurance by the government.

In the spirit of this, Otumfuo said he was abreast of a recent visit to the facility by key government officials, including the Minister for Health and representatives from GETFund.

This preceded an expression of dissatisfaction towards the unpleasant state of the facility, seeing it had been “left in the bush after I cut the sod.”

“I still believe, and I’ve been assured that it’s going to be done.”

Four months ago, while the Asantehene addressed concerns over the project, he indicated that the facility, once completed, will augment the congested Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and aid in the training of Medical and Allied Health students of KNUST.

“My KNUST teaching hospital is still not completed, even though there has been tremendous progress, and I’m passionate about this project because of the peculiar purpose it is meant to serve.

“When finished, it will complement the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the training of Medical and Allied Health students of KNUST,” Otumfuo told Vice President Nana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on June 28, 2025.
