Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation Giveaway Thousands Of Branded Backpacks And Books To Deprived Communities In Atwima Nwabiagya

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation has donated thousands of backpacks and exercise books to the deprived communities in the Atwima Nwabiagya District.

The Foundation on Wednesday, 17th February 2021 donated thousands of books and school bags to 8 selected remote JHS schools in Atwima Nwabiagya South District of Ashanti region.

The schools that benefited from the benevolence of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II included Nkwakom M/A JHS, Kyereyaase M/A JHS, Nkontomire, Asakraka, Amadum Adankwame, Ahwiaa, Ntabanu and Akuapem.

The gesture was aimed at equipping the students in the deprived areas with some materials that will help them in their classroom activities and stimuli the pupils love for school.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation has been an instrumental instrument in this period of COVID-19 by organising ICT classes and providing Literature books and dictionaries to aid the students to study.

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation which has been in existence for about 20 years and has been a game-changer in the transformation agenda of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Although Otumfuo Osei Tutu started off with education, he later expanded his development programmes to include four other thematic areas namely, Health, Culture & Heritage, and Water & Sanitation.

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation has empowered many people, setting them up for a better standard of living. The foundation was borne out of the need to do more to help people stand on their own in the Ashanti Kingdom and beyond. Its Patron and Founder, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has immensely supported the foundation which is in its 11th year running.

The donation exercise was led by the newly appointed Executive Director for the Foundation, Nana Afia Kobi Prempeh, and Nana Adusei.
