His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called on the general public to put their safety on top of their scale of preference even as the COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed by the President.
He was recollecting the COVID-19 restrictions that disrupted the academic calendar and caused Special Congregations of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to be held virtually rather than in-person.
“It is such a great delight for all of us to meet again in this great hall. After almost two years of having congregation ceremonies online, this is indeed a rejuvenating break”, he said.
“The covid pandemic brought a lot of restrictions and all spheres of our lives and academia were not spared either. Although the restrictions have been relaxed, we still need to make our personal safety a priority.”
The Asantehene’s submission comes in the wake of rising cases of COVID-19 infections once more in Ghana.
