Otumfuo Foundation Unveils US Board of Directors

A six-member Board of Directors has been appointed in the United States of America (USA) for the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF).
This comes as the non-governmental organisation of the sixteenth Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is marking its 25th anniversary.
The Board headed by Nana Professor Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II includes Barbara Acheampong, a Tax Accountant and CEO of Rhema Financial Services and Aseda Transport Inc.; Marlon W. Brown, the Founder and CEO of Clarendon Global Partners, LLC (CGP); and H.E. Lady Jiljuana J. Coleman, the CEO of Jamerson Strategic Consulting, LLC.
The rest are Dr. Sandi Williams, Commissioner on The Philadelphia Commission for Women; and Nana Dr. Akuoku Boateng, the Medical Director at NYU Laurelton Medical Center in New York.
Commissioning the Board, the Board Chairman who doubles as Otumfuo Hiahene said their extensive experience and passion for non-profit leadership and community empowerment align perfectly with the mission of the Foundation.
“The newly appointed Board members bring a wealth of expertise in finance, philanthropy, economic empowerment, diplomacy, healthcare, and non-profit leadership.”

Established in 2000 as the Otumfuo Education Fund, the foundation has touched the lives of millions of underprivileged people and deprived communities across Ghana, bringing hope to hearts and smiles to faces.
The Foundation operates in five thematic areas of national development, namely: Education, Health, Culture and Heritage, Water and Sanitation, as well as special projects.
Its headline projects and programmes include a Dental Outreach that provides free dental services to students and residents of rural areas; a mobile learning programme that seeks to bridge the gap in rural and urban education; and a Twi and English Reading Challenge run in the Ashanti Region.
It has granted scholarships to needy but brilliant students across the country pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as well as other courses.
