Otumfuo Foundation: Rotary District 9104 To Build 10 Boreholes
Rotary International District 9104 has offered to build 10 boreholes and give out wheelchairs to 15 people through the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF) in appreciation for the King’s attendance at their first District Conference last week.
During a visit to express their gratitude for his gracious presence, the District Governor, Mr. David Osei Amankwah Junior, announced the donation to the King.
He was in the company of the Chairman of the event, PDG Jefferey Afful and other executives of the District on April 19, 2024.
Mr Amankwah said the boreholes would be built at any location His Majesty may suggest.
His Majesty in reaction said the boreholes would be taken to remote areas far from Kumasi and would be selected by Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, the Head of the OOTIIF.
Meanwhile, Otumfuo indicated that the noble cause championed by the club necessitated his decision to attend the event.
“I honoured the invitation due to what the club stands for. I noticed my presence was also encouraging.”
He added, “What’s left is for you to harness and change the wrong impression people have about the club. Let people know you are charged with making the world a better place.”
