OSP Scouts For 6 Over Vote-buying
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has flagged six individuals over alleged vote-buying.
It comes after the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s parliamentary Primaries in orphan constituencies over the weekend.
There have been numerous reported cases and acts of vote buying in viral videos during the election which took place in 111 voting centres across the country.
The OSP on Sunday published the images of six individuals declaring them wanted for corruption and corruption-related offences.
“The following persons are wanted by the OSP for corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of public elections- especially vote-buying.”
NPP Orphan Constituency Primaries
The NPP’s primaries took place on Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3 at 111 voting centres in 17 constituencies where the party does not have sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).
The constituencies are Suaman in the Western North Region; Anlo and North Dayi in the Volta Region; Nadowli/Kaleo in the Upper West Region; Sagnarigu and Kumbungu in the Northern Region; Builsa North, Pusiga and Bolgatanga East in the Upper East Region.
The rest are Tema East, La Dadekotopon and Ada in the Greater Accra Region; Buem and Biakoye in the Oti Region; Amenfi West in the Western Region; New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region and Upper Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region.
