One Year On: Asante Kotoko Remembers Fallen Supporter Nana Pooley

Asante Kotoko SC took to their official socials today, February 2, to mark exactly one year since they lost a die-hard supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong, who is famously referred to as ‘Nana Pooley’ and still rallying for justice on his behalf.
‘Pooley’ exhibited true love and passion for the ‘Kum Apem’ family having followed the club wherever they go but unfortunately met his untimely death exactly a year ago in Nsoatre on the back of football hooliganism.
Eye-witnesses reported that he was sadly stabbed by an unknown individual at the entrance of the Nana Koromansah II Stadium during a week 19 clash of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko SC.
There hasn’t been any convictions yet on the incident even though up to eight individuals are still on trial in court as they have been identified as potential suspects.
In a statement posted on social media, Asante Kotoko SC remembered their loyal supporter ‘Nana Pooley’, seeked justice on his behalf and once again condemned hooliganism stating it shouldn’t have any grounds in our football again from henceforth
According to the club’s Spokesperson Lawyer Samuel Sarfo Duku, the case is still at the Sunyani District Court B with all eight suspects currently on conditional bails and will have to wait until the police receive the forensic report before they could make progress.
