One Perish in Fuel Tanker and Truck Collision at Kintampo

One person has lost his life after a fuel tanker and a HOWO truck collided at the Kintampo Waterfalls junction on the Kintampo–Tamale highway.

The impact of the collision left the driver of the truck vehicle trapped in his seat and took personnel of the Kintampo Fire Station to rescue him.

Meanwhile, a statement by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said four people sustained various degrees of injuries.

“Four (4) passengers who got injured were rescued earlier and transported to the hospital, while one (1) motionless person was retrieved from the Howo truck at the scene by the Fire Service Rescuers.”

The Bono East Regional GNFS also reported that the cowls of both vehicles were damaged beyond repair.

It has commenced investigations to ascertain the cause of the accident on May 28.

“Investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.”
