One Perish in Accident along Peki–Asikuma Highway

One person has died in a road traffic accident at Peki Tsame near Mawutor Inn on the Peki–Asikuma highway.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), 16 people with varying degrees of injuries were rescued from the vehicle including eight males, seven females, and one child.

“All victims were conveyed by the National Ambulance Service to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one victim later died at the hospital, while the others are reported to be in stable condition.”

The accident involving a Toyota Hiace with registration number GT 7012-24 was caused by a rear tyre burst.

This resulted in a somersault.
