One Arrested Over Odumase-Badu Fatal Robbery Incident
One person is in the custody of the police for his alleged involvement in a robbery incident that occurred on Tuesday along the Odumase-Badu road in the Bono Region.
The suspect whose identity has been withheld, together with his accomplices are said to have attacked a bus carrying students and lecturers of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
The team was returning from a field trip when they encountered the attack.
According to a police statement, Police highway patrol teams intervened and arrested one person at the scene.
“The Ghana Police Service has arrested one suspect in connection with a robbery incident which occurred on the Odumase-Badu road, near Sunyani, in the Bono Region at about 7 pm on Tuesday, 16th April 2024.”
Meanwhile, the attack claimed the life of one student identified as Abdul Aziz Issah with others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
The police are currently on a manhunt for the remaining suspects, the statement said.
