Okyeame Kwame to Sponsor Pediatric Emergency Centre Construction at Manhyia Hospital

Singer and rapper Okyeame Kwame has received the approval of the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to construct a Pediatric Emergency Centre at Manhyia Government Hospital in Kumasi.
He intends to use the building as a monument to mark his 50th birthday, which comes in a week.
The rapper joined the Manhyia Palace on April 8, 2026, for the third Awukudae Festival, where he met the Asantehene to pay homage and disclose his intentions for the approval and blessings of His Majesty.
He explained that Manhyia was strategically selected to pay tribute to the roots of his musical career.

“I want to do something monumental to honour Asanteman because I am Okyeame Kwame, all because of Ash town. I have consulted the Manhyia Government Hospital about building a pediatric emergency centre. It’s been a while since we started the conversation, but Otumfuo was away, so we couldn’t use our discretion to advance the plan.”
He used the occasion to introduce other sponsors of the project who were present to the King.
Speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Hiahene Nana Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, applauded the initiative and announced readiness to offer the needed assistance.
