Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi Unseat Togbe Afede XIV For National House of Chiefs Seat
Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi, Manhene of the Sefwi Anwiaso Traditional area, has been voted as the new President of the National House of Chiefs.
Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi defeated Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State in an election held today in Kumasi.
He polled 47 votes while his competitor and incumbent, Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State in the Volta Region had 25.
Togbe Afede XIV will succeed the Wulugu Naba Pugansoa, Naa Professor John S. Nabila, who has ended his term of office recently.
For the Vice — presidential elections, Naa Puowele Karbo won the majority votes of 44 and the incumbent, Dasebre Kwaku Ewusi the VII of Aboadzi had 28 votes of 28.
In all, a total of 72 Chiefs voted.
