Mansoman SHS Appeals for Amenities

Mr. Kofi Ampofo, the headmaster of Mansoman Senior High School (SHS), has made a plea to stakeholders to support the school in acquiring additional facilities. He made this appeal during the launch of the school’s 50th-anniversary celebration.

During his speech, he highlighted that the school needs more staff bungalows, an assembly hall, and additional dormitories for male students.

“Due to a shortage of teachers living close to the school, monitoring students becomes challenging. Additionally, because of the limited number of dormitories available for boys, enrollment rates have decreased,” he added.

To help the school, Prof. Joseph Albert Qwam donated books worth GHC50,000 and expressed his commitment to doing more in the future.

“When God blesses you with riches, you have to give back to society. In my hometown, I built a 100-bed capacity hospital. You have to give to the needy,” he said.

The headmaster also revealed that the land on which the school is located was compulsorily acquired by the government, but the former owners are yet to receive compensation. As a result, they have been encroaching on the land.
