Nursing and Midwifery Council Dispels Professional Identification Numbers Issuance Bribery

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) has dispelled allegations of delay and bribery over the issuance of the Professional Identification Numbers (PINs) at its Accra and Kumasi Regional Offices.

In a statement, the Council indicated that it has instituted clear and transparent procedures for the issuance and renewal of PINs.

“These processes have been further enhanced through the introduction of digital platforms aimed at reducing human interference and improving efficiency.”

It explained that any delays experienced are typically due to verification requirements or incomplete documentation, not deliberate obstruction.

The N&MC further reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, extortion, or any form of unethical conduct.

“Our operations are guided by the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013 (Act 857), and we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability.”

It noted that any staff found to be in breach of these standards is subject to disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.

It added, “The Nursing and Midwifery Council remains committed to serving the public with integrity and professionalism.”

Meanwhile, it urged clients and stakeholders to report any concerns through our official communication channels: email, info@nmc.gov.gh and their verified Facebook page: Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or through WhatsApp on 0256111922 to enable prompt investigation and resolution.
