Nurses and Midwives Salary Arrears to be Paid in 4 Instalments

The government has devised a payment plan to clear all outstanding arrears owed to nurses and midwives posted in the 2024/2025 recruitment year, following a successful conclusion of negotiations regarding the payment.

Per the payment plan, two months’ salaries will be paid in April, while three months’ salaries will be paid in May, June and July.

“This structured payment arrangement underscores the Government’ s firm commitment to clearing all outstanding obligations in a timely, responsible, and sustainable manner,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

It further commended nurses and midwives for their patience, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to service delivery despite the delays experienced.

It also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Finance for the priority attention and urgency given to the matter.

This comes in the wake of threats from the medical workers after they alleged that the arrears had been cleared from the payroll system.
