NRSC not responsible for Road Carnage – PRO
The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) has shot down accusations that the Commission is responsible for many road carnage in the country following recent death of six footballer at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.
“We don’t fix roads …we don’t issue road worthy license to drivers and other more which has to do with driving so we can’t be blamed for any accident occurred in the country” Communications Director of NRSC, Mr. Kwame Kodua Atuahene debunked on Opemsuo FM morning show in Kumasi.
Speaking to George Opoku Mensah Agudey on “Nkwantananso” political talk-show, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Commission stressed the need for motorists to be careful on the roads to curb unforeseen lorry accidents.
“All of us must ensure each person’s safety on our roads if we want to avoid lorry accidents these days”, Mr. Kwame Kodua Atuahene pointed out to listeners of Manhyia-based Opemsuo 104.7
Six young footballer have died through road accident at Offinso in the Ashanti over the weekend; a development which have left four others in a critical condition.
However, Mr. Kwame Kodua Atuahene said, NRSC has launched investigations into the matter to enable officials to proffer solutions to curb future occurrences.
“We can only investigate it as part of our work, however, we are not responsible for doing other state institution’s work for them”, the PRO, Mr. Kwame Kodua Atuahene stated.
