NPP Suspends Cynthia Morrison’s Replacement For Agona West
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended the membership of Christopher Arthur, the 2024 Agona West Parliamentary candidate.
His suspension is on the grounds of violation of a directive by the General Secretary of the Party, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, prohibiting premature political engagements ahead of official nominations.
“Despite this clear directive, you proceeded to organize an electoral area meeting on Sunday, July 6, 2025, which constitutes a direct breach of party regulations and administrative discipline,” a part of the letter addressed to the candidate who replaced Cynthia Morrison read.
It noted, “You are kindly advised to refrain from carrying out any official duties or representing the party in any capacity during the period of this suspension.”
According to the party, his action reflects a clear disregard for the authority of the General Secretary and also undermines internal unity and the strategic work being done to strengthen the party ahead of the next general election.
The candidate defeated Morrison in the NPP parliamentary primary held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, forcing the former to go solo in the general elections.
