NPP Disciplinary Committee Postpones Adwoa Safo’s Hearing

The Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has postponed its meeting to grant a hearing to the former MP for Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
A part of a letter to the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection read, “We wish to notify you that the said hearing has formally been postponed.”
It cited emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations as grounds for the decision.
“Once rescheduled, we will notify you promptly of the new date and time for the hearing.”
Meanwhile, it reaffirmed the Party’s commitment to upholding the values of fairness, due process, and procedural integrity in all its deliberations.
Adwoa Safo was earlier scheduled to appear before the Committee on Monday at the Conference Room of the NPP Headquarters in Accra at 11 a.m.
Background
She was referred to the Disciplinary Committee two weeks ago after she defied the party’s orders for members to cease public discussions on internal wrangling of the party.
A part of a statement issued by the party announcing her referral said her actions are in disregard of the directive and also undermines the Party’s efforts to rebuild and move forward.
According to the statement, she has violated Article 3(5) of the Party’s constitution, which, amongst others enjoins members to promote and defend the good name of the Party.
