NPA Scandal: Fourth Accused Offers to Avail as Prosecution Witness- OSP

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) says the fourth accused person in the alleged National Petroleum Authority (NPA) corruption scandal has offered to serve as a prosecution witness.

The development was communicated to the Criminal Division of the High Court on March 10, 2026.

According to the OSP, it is currently considering his request.

Former Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid, along with nine co-accused — including senior officials and associated companies — are standing trial on 54 criminal counts, including extortion, abuse of public office, and money laundering.

The scheme involves more than GH¢291 million and significant amounts in foreign currency collected from oil marketing companies and bulk transporters between 2022 and 2024.
