Nothing About Your Record as President Can Be Altered; Otumfuo to Akufo-Addo

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has asserted that the records of the successes and failures of the erstwhile Akufo-Addo Government remain engraved in the annals of the country’s history.
During a courtesy call, Otumfuo recalled how he always kept the then President on his toes with regard to his promises to the Ashanti Region.
“He had promised to undertake developmental projects in the Ashanti Region so whenever I met him, I confronted him about projects that were delaying or weren’t getting the needed attention.”
Despite the shortcomings and unpopularity of the administration at the end of the eight-year tenure, Otumfuo comforted the former President that he did his utmost best and, in some way, paid his dues to the country.
“Fact is fact. Things he did are evident for all and things he didn’t do are also public knowledge. Nothing can be changed about that. Some people will try to dispute things you did but the objective person will acknowledge that they your work.”
“In his retirement, he should be comforted that he has contributed to the national development with evidence-based testament.”
To His Majesty, Akufo-Addo must be grateful to Ghanaians for the mandate he received to serve as President for two terms.
Otumfuo further wished him well in his retirement.
“We pray he enjoy good health and longevity, allowing the nation to tap into his expertise whenever needed.”
The Asantehene visited Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at his residence in Accra for the first time since his exit from power on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
“I have not seen him since he left office so I passed by to check up on him.”
