No Prima Facie Established for Removal of EC Boss, Deputies and Special Prosecutor – Presidency

The Jubilee House has stated that no prima facie case has been established to warrant the removal of the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, Jean Mensah, her deputies and the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng.
A statement issued by the Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said ten petitions for their removal were forwarded to the Chief Justice in accordance with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 15 of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) on November 25, 2025.
The CJ communicated his findings in a letter dated January 26, 2026, to the Presidency.
Per the findings, the Presidency said further investigations for the removal of the Electoral Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and the Special Prosecutor are not necessary.
The Jubilee House received seven petitions from various individuals and groups for the removal of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and her deputies, as well as three petitions for the removal of the Special Prosecutor.
