Nkoko Nketekete Project: NSA Takes Delivery of 10,000 Chicks

The National Service Authority has received a supply of 10,000-day-old chicks as part of the government’s “nkoko nketenkete” project.
This is the first batch of the Authority’s 100,000 Poultry Demonstration farm project in Accra.
In a Facebook post, the NSA said the chicks were received this morning.
“Our ongoing 100,000 Poultry infrastructure will be receiving 10,000 Day Old Chicks every few weeks until we hit our 100,000 mark for Broilers in this particular site in our Demonstration farm in Accra.”
The NSA intends to replicate this in the remaining fifteen regions as well as embark on a different project for layers.
“Nationwide we are working assiduously with partners to put the infrastructure in place for hundreds of thousands of Poultry Capacity for Broilers in clusters.”
“Egg production is also top of our agenda in separate projects. We are currently putting in place the infrastructure that will receive thousands of layers in President Mahama’s quest to bring down the cost of eggs.”
Reading the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, the Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, said GH¢1.5 billion had been allocated for Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA) which encompasses the Nkoko Nketenkete project.
The remaining projects include the Feed Ghana Programme, Ghana Grains Development Project and Vegetable Development Project.
