Nine-member Board Committee Inaugurated for Kumasi City Market Ltd

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has inaugurated a nine-member Committee to steer the affairs of the Kumasi City Market Ltd.

This is to enhance the smooth running of the facility.

At the event held on Monday, February 16, 2026, the Regional Minister spelt out their mandate before administering the Oath of Office and Oath of secrecy.

“You may not be in charge of the day-to-day management, but definitely, we will have a management that will do that, but you will provide the policy direction and the vision, making sure that the day-to-day managers manage in a way that will be sustainable to keep the market running.”

For his part, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi, Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, pledged commitment to making the market exemplary.

“On behalf of the city of Kumasi, we pledge to do our best to make sure that we improve the management standard of the Kumasi City Market so that it can serve the people for whom the market was constructed.”

“The responsibility handed to us by Nananom and the state, we will live up to it and make sure that during our term, there will be good transformation and good standards that will be looked up to impact other markets in our regions and country,” he added.
