NHIS Covers Cesarean Deliveries- Manhyia NHIA Spokesperson

The PR Manager for the Manhyia District of the National Health Authority (NHIA), Frank Konadu Sarpong, says the scheme has a comprehensive package and benefits for pregnant women.
This includes antenatal care (ANC), delivery, postnatal care and free neonatal care for up to three months.
Under delivery, he said the benefits cover Cesarean Sections.
Speaking on Nkwantannanso with Commander Kofi Boachie, he advised pregnant women to subscribe to the initiative which has been made flexible for them.
“Pregnant women do pay any fee and their cards are effective immediately after registration. They can use it at any facility…When you start antenatal in the first month, visit our office with your scan and we will register you for free. You can use the card to access healthcare services for the whole nine months. NHIS covers surgery of women.”
“The card is not for only antenatal but all contributors but by virtue of the fact that you are pregnant, we don’t want a situation where financial constraint hinders medical care for pregnant women.”
