NDC Should Rebrand The Party As ‘Arise Ghana’ Than Maintaining The Name – Atubiga
Founder of National Liberation Congress (NLC), Mr. Stephen Atubiga has stated that the leadership of National Democratic Congress (NDC) should rebrand the party as ‘Arise Ghana’ rather than maintaining the name NDC.
According to him, “the leadership of the NDC party is riding behind the ‘Arise Ghana’ as a pressure group thinking that the latter and other pressure groups will be successful in staging a coup to overthrow the current government that will be an advantage for the party regain power”.
Mr. Atubiga stated that “the NDC should dissolve the party for us to overtake it and build a tradition like the ‘Dankwa-Dombo-Busia’ because the party has become so visionless and torn apart through its incompetent leadership like Ofosu Ampofo”.
He condemned coup d’état and any pressure group or Ghanaian motivated by someone or money to think along that line of overthrowing a ruling government. He said, “if there is a lack of satisfaction in the governance of the country, the only means to get rid of the ruling government is through the polls and not a coup”.
He added that the leadership of the NDC party should restructure the party and commit themselves to win power legitimately at the ballot and refrain from hiding behind the ‘Arise Ghana’.
He believes that the NDC has always won power legitimately through its ideologies, strategies, plans, and brave men (men of substance and integrity) which must reflect this time around. “The NDC is not a demonstration party”, he added.
