Anti-galamsey Demo: Defy Police Injunction- Vormawor to Okatakyie Afrifa

Fixthecountry convenor, Oliver Barker Vormawor has advised broadcast journalist Okatakyie Afrifa to defy police injunction restricting his planned demonstration against illegal mining.
Condemning the action of the police in a Facebook post, he said it was unconstitutional.
“I hear that the Police Service has obtained and served Okatakyie Afrifa with an injunction to stop his Galamsey Demonstration.”
He continued, “I condemn it. Any ex parte injunction is unconstitutional and void. Proceed with the Demo.”
Pressure group Generational Right Protection Society (GRPS) days ago notified the Ghana Police Service about its planned three-day anti-galamsey demonstration at the Jubilee House beginning on April 28.
A subsequent letter by the Police to the group led by the journalist communicated that an injunction had been secured against the protest from the Accra High Court with the case scheduled for hearing on Friday, April 25, 2025.
