NCA: Over 7Million Have Re-registered Their SIM

The National Communication Authority (NCA) says more than seven million subscribers have completed the SIM Re-registration exercise.

“7,636,287 is the total number of subscribers who have fully completed SIM registration”, the NCA heralded in a notice.

The figure reflects the total number of successful registration from October 1, 2021, to February 25, 2022.

So far, twelve million, eight hundred and sixty-one thousand seven hundred and sixty-three (12,861,763) subscribers have completed just the first phase of the process.

The registration exercise was met with a lot of challenges on the onset which led to the emergence of a group boycotting the exercise and calling for a more appropriate means of registration.

March 31 has been scheduled as the deadline for the exercise after which, the NCA has said unregistered SIMs will be deactivated.
