Nations FC Keeper Kofi Mensah Banned Over Verbal Abuse
Goalkeeper of Nations Football Club, Kofi Mensah has been banned from three matches by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The ban announced in a statement by the FA Disciplinary Committee relates to the club’s matchday six game against leaders Bibiani Goldstars FC at home, which ended 1-1.
The 27-year-old is said to have verbally abused match officials during the game, an action the committee termed as an unsporting behaviour.
“Kofi Mensah, goalkeeper of Nations FC, has been handed a three-match ban by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following the Match Day 6 Ghana Premier League game between Nations FC and Bibiani Goldstars FC at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.”
He was subsequently found guilty.
“He was found guilty of unsporting behaviour towards match officials after verbally abusing them during the said game. He has also been warned that any further misconduct in subsequent matches will result in severe sanctions.”
