National Cathedral: Ablakwa Commends Clergymen For Resignation
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has commended the general overseer of the Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams and the President of the Eastwood Anaba Ministries, Rev Eastwood Anaba for resigning from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees.
The two clergymen tendered their resignation letter to President Akufo-Addo on October 12, 2023.
According to the letter sighted by opemsuo.com, their calls for an audit into the Cathedral’s funds and expenditure as well as a subsequent audience request with the President were declined.
“Despite our prayers, best hopes and wishes, unfortunately, a needed audit to help restore public confidence and trust in this consequential project has not been enacted to the best of our knowledge. Since January 2023, we awaited news to no avail, regarding the finding of the audit. We therefore, regret that as a matter of conscience and faith, we hereby submit to you our resignation from the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral.”
Following this, Ablakwa who has consistently alleged the National Cathedral’s construction is marred by corruption has highly commended them.
“May I take a moment off my gruelling VRA disaster response to offer high commendation to Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams and Reverend Eastwood Anaba for resigning from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees based on “conscience and faith.”
According to him, their stance testifies to their principles.
