Napoli Threatened With Legal Action By Osimhen Agent
Reigning Serie A champions, Napoli have been threatened with legal action after posting a social media clip that poked fun at Nigerian Striker Victor Osimhen over a missed penalty.
The striker’s agent, Roberto Calenda announced this after calling the Club out Tuesday evening.
In a video on the official TikTok account of Napoli which has since been deleted, Football Italia reports that Osimhen appeared appealing for the penalty, using a strange sped-up voice, then he demanded to take it before the video showed him blasting it off target.
In a statement, Osimhen’s agent said they reserve the right to take legal action against the Club to protect the player.
He also classified the deletion of the video as belated.
“A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.”
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old is reported to have cleared off all Napoli-related posts from his Instagram page.
The Nigerian missed a penalty after a handball in their game against 11th-placed Bologna on Sunday.
The game ended goalless as the defending champions hung on to the seventh place on the league table.
They have recorded only two wins out of five games played so far.
