Napo Commends Manasseh Azure for Authoring What “Leaders Don’t Want to Hear”
The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has commended freelance journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure for his unflinching audacity in authoring the painful truth no leader likes to hear.
This comment was cited by the Freelance journalist in a Facebook post in which he highlighted the presentation of a copy of his book to the 2024 ticket of the governing NPP.
“Yesterday, I presented complimentary copies of “The President Ghana Never Got” to the vice-presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who received them on behalf of the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.’
According to him, the book will serve as a guide to them as they aspire to take over the reins of power in December.
The candidate is said to have patted him for the bold step.
“Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said I did ‘a great job writing what, normally, leaders don’t want to hear.’ He said those who aspire to leadership would read and learn from such books. He hoped that every leader would write.”
The former Energy Minister is also quoted to have said that “If you don’t write, it will be written.”
Manasseh launched the 400-paged and 40-chaptered book on the reign of resident Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo titled “The President Ghana Never Got” on August 8, 2024.
The book has since been tagged as Best Seller by Amazon.
In 2019, when the country’s fourth president, John Dramani Mahama was preparing to leave office, Manasseh released a book for him titled “The Fourth John: Reign, Rejection & Rebound”.
It was written over one year with over 350 pages of a book chronicling the major events that shaped the Mahama presidency and delves deep to find answers to some of the critical characters and issues of the Mahama era, according to the Ghana Report.
