Nana Konadu Yiadom III Dɔte Yie: What To Do When Your Route Falls Within Blocked Roads

Some roads leading to the Manhyia Palace will be blocked to commuters during the four-day burial rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa.

The Manhyia Palace envisions that this may affect some attendees who may choose to use their private vehicles to attend the event.

It has therefore advised such attendees to find alternative parking lots to avoid any inconveniences.

Meanwhile, parking areas have been designated around the Manhyia Palace with the needed security for cars.

The Palace noted that, “All property will be well protected by the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies. Buses will be available to move people from these grounds to Manhyia.”

It further warned that all cars parked wrongfully within the vicinity of the Manhyia will be towed away.

The arrangement is intended to enhance traffic flow and ensure order around the Manhyia Palace within the stipulated period.

The carefully planned rites will witness a series of activities from September 15 to September 18, when the rites will come to an end.

Her Majesty will be buried on the last day.

Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.

These days will also see the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, sit in state as the chief mourner.

A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
