The Namibian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Selma Ashipala Musavyi has lauded Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his heroic deed played in peace attainment and sustainable development.
“As a great leader, he has shown extraordinary role when it comes to maintaining peace and unity across nations. Your country gave a helping hand to Namibians in times of war and we commend you for that. As great as you are, you led the way in fighting for peace and sustainable development, a heroic gesture which could be traced back to your forefathers”, she said.
She said Ghana’s effort in accepting Namibians during difficult times has yielded a cordial relationship between the two countries.
They are hopeful that advanced relations will be initiated through frequent interaction from the two parties in terms of trade, tourism, ICT, visitation, etc.
She further stated that, for the sake of Intra African Tourism, more light should be thrown on “consuming what we produce in Africa and building our confidence level.
The Namibian Ambassador eulogized Otumfuo when she paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace.
She expressed the great honour it was having met Otumfuo and also extended greetings from the Namibian president and the country.
Otumfuo, on his side, assured that the relationship between the two countries seeks to be strengthened when opportunities for trading activities are identified.
He noted that commerce between Ghana and Namibia advances when “we identify, accept and make use of opportunities available whilst we pinpoint the system of governance that best suits us before making use of foreign systems,” he added.
