My Vision Is to Serve Asantehene Although Appointed by Govt – Kumasi Mayor

The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, has declared his dedication to serving Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, despite being appointed by the government.

According to him, Kumasi belongs to the Asantehene, and he believes the King’s influence played a vital role in his appointment.

Speaking on Opemsuo Radio’s Nkwantannanso with Kofi Boakye, the mayor stated that his goal is to honour the Asantehene by working to restore Kumasi’s image as the Garden City of Ghana.

He further addressed the backlash concerning his decision to flog street traders.

The Mayor indicated that he has been misunderstood.

He explained that he does not intend to flog them but he will definitely evict them.
