MTN DONATES TO OTUMFUO EDUCATION FUND
MTN Ghana has donated an amount of GHS100,000 to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Education Fund.
As part of their corporate social responsibility, the amount has been released to support the educational activities carried out by the Foundation.
During MTN Ghana’s visit to Manhyia Palace, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, said they admired the King’s love for education and that influenced their decision to donate.
“We know education is of great value to you that is why we decided to donate towards the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Educational Fund GHS100,000 “, he said.
Revealing their business activities to Otumfuo, an amount of $200 million was said to have been invested in infrastructure including a 600 dormitory project in the Northern region.
In the area of digitization, MTN’s over 200 educational website has been made free for convenient use by students.
Mr. Adadevoh noted that, the company is putting in measures to have all site go 4G by the end of next year.
Health wise, he said PPEs, sanitizers, masks etc. were distributed to selected hospitals as a way of supporting government’s fight against COVID.
He disclosed that, “Digitization became very important, in our homes we are able to use internet whether wireless, mobile. This year we invested about $200 million into infrastructure and extended 4G and 3G by the end of next year all sites will go 4G.”
The MTN was at the palace to inform Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, about their 25th anniversary activities.
Otumfuo expressed gratitude for the donation and commended them for their economic, health and educational impacts on the nation.
He urged them to be diligent as customers adapt to social media for all activities: pleasure, business, fashion, etc.
