Mpox Cases Now 424

The number of Mpox cases has shot up to 424 in the past week.

In an update on August 20, 2025, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) said 15 new cases had contributed to the rise.

Meanwhile, it reported that zero admissions, indicating the reported admission, had been discharged.

The death log stands at one.

Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person.

The GHS has since encouraged people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons; washing hands often with soap and water; and avoiding regular touching of the eyes, nose and mouth.
