Miss Teen Tourism Engages Students Of St Anne’s International School

Organisers, reigning winners and 2023 contestants of Megastar pageantry Miss Teen Tourism held discussions with students of St Anne’s International School at Ashanti New Town during one of their tours across the country on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

It precedes the grand finale of the fourth edition of the Miss Teen Tourism pageant this weekend.

The Organisers including Ovette Ricalde, Manuel Norman, Jeffery Cabellero, Robin Oipin, Mack Rhol and Georgina William. The reigning winners including South African Savannah Raine Taylor, the Miss Teen Tourism Universe 2022 and Ghanaian Calista Amoateng, Miss Teen Tourism World 2022 were all present.

Eighteen of the contesting ladies from countries like Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Senegal, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, South Africa, Niger, the United Kingdom, Burkina Faso, Central Africa Republic and others, were also in person.

Moderating the discussions held at the St Anne’s Anglican Church was media personality, Stacy Amoateng who said the motive was to encourage the students to go for their dreams and remind them they have what it takes to reach their dreams.

After introducing themselves to the upper primary and Junior High School students, all the visitors gave some counsel.

First was the 2022 Miss Teen Tourism Universe, Savannah Raine Taylor who reiterated the need to exhibit kindness to friends and acquaintances.

For Calista Amoateng, the 2022 Miss Teen Tourism World, inasmuch as taking precedence in academia is a great achievement, it does not always define the impact one will have in the world and, therefore, urged average students to push towards achieving their dreams. According to her, failure sometimes becomes a blueprint to lead one to success.

As some of the contestants counselled the students to believe in themselves and avoid bad influence, others encouraged them to show respect and be obedient to instructions from parents and teachers. They were also advised to be wise, smart and make perfect decisions for themselves.

On his part, Ovette Ricalde underscored the need for education to be upheld. “Making dreams come to pass begin with education,” he said and then urged the students to hold onto respect, love and peace as the three most important virtues.

The engagement ended with a picture session with the students.

Miss Teen Tourism with its contestants have been in Ghana since August 1, 2023, as the host country and has toured most parts of the country with their last in the Ashanti region, the country’s second capital.

Savannah and Calista will bequeath their crowns to the next winners of the pageant this Saturday, August 19 during the grand finale which will be held at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. In all, there are 20 contestants.

The Megastar pageantry seeks to raise future leaders who will unite through tourism to sell their countries to the world.
