Military Officers Allegedly Besiege Ashaiman Over Death Of Colleague
Some military officers have besieged Ashaiman in Accra, a video circulating on social media has revealed.
This comes after the murder of a young military officer in the area on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Reports indicate that the 22-year-old soldier with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band in Sunyani in the Bono Region was stabbed while heading towards his residence at Zongo-Laka in Ashaiman.
In the video on social media, two men dressed in military attire stormed a house and ordered the occupant to get out.
They appeared wielding sticks with which the occupant of the house would be flogged, it is believed.
One of them was seen kicking against the door after the order was disobeyed.
Reports say military officers stormed the community on Tuesday dawn to allegedly seek revenge for the deceased officer.
A resident told Citinews, “They (the military officers) knock on your door and once you step out you will receive slaps”.
The 29-second video circulating on social media was secretly filmed by a frightened female in a neighbouring house and is heard in the background calling on Jesus.
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is yet to react to it.
