Military Base Invader Arrested
A middle-aged man identified as Yaw Boateng has been arrested and handed over to the police CID after he was caught trying to break into the Base ammunition depot at Michel camp.
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recounts that the young man claimed to be a resident of Ashaiman Tulaku and was trying to access the ammunition depot for scraps.
“Upon his arrest, 18 pieces of aluminium plates, iron pickets and a broken street light lamp holder were found among his possessions”, a statement from the GAF revealed.
It also warned the general public and encroachers to stay out of the bounds of the ammunition depot due to its “highly sensitive security” nature.
“It is strongly advised that the public desists from tampering with the perimeter fence and attempting to gain any unauthorised access for their own safety and that of all others as there could be serious repercussions for such actions”, the GAF said.
