Medeama SC Secure CAF Licence For Men Interclub Competitions
Champions of the 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League season, Medeama Sporting Club, have been cleared for the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League.
This comes after they met all requirements by CAF last Thursday, a statement from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said.
The First Instant Body (FIB) gave the club unanimous approval to participate in the competition after assessing its sporting, legal, infrastructure, and personnel and administration.
“We wish to congratulate Medeama SC and applaud their Club Licensing Officer Joseph Tetteh Zutah for his exceptional professionalism and cooperation through this short but tedious period,” the GFA noted in the statement.
This follows Medeama’s agreement with Fiase Golden Royal Ladies Football Club in satisfying the CAF Champions League conditions for the 2022/2023 season.
CAF as part of its conditions for the men’s inter-club competition for 2023/2024 said participants must confirm the existence of their first women’s team which must be registered in official competitions played at national, regional or local levels recognized by the member association.
In case the club lacks one, it gave the option for an agreement with another entity that operates a women’s first team.
