Makeshift Brothel In Amenfi West Destroyed
A task force in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal in the Western region has demolished a makeshift brothel according to a report filed by Peace FM.
The task force included the Chief Executive, Lord Nana Tandoh, the Ghana Police Service, the Immigration Service, the National Security, and the Fire service.
“The structures mainly made of plywood, and polythene were situated in the heart of Asankrangwa, Aboi Nkwanta and Wassa Dunkwa”, the report by Peace FM noted.
According to the report, the brothel was slowly dominating the mining areas as it seemed to satisfy some of the miners and inhabitants in the affected communities.
The sex workers operating the brothel are reported to be Nigerian migrants in Ghana.
The demolition, the report said, was part of the Chief Executive’s means of developing the Municipality.
The demolition seems to have brought relief to a section of the residents, especially married women and parents who were concerned about how their marriages had been brought to the brink of collapse with an unguaranteed future for their wards due to illegal venture.
